Our Journey
Building Connections Since 1985
1985
R.K. Agarwal moved to Chennai with a vision to build a better future for his family. He began by trading small commodities and gradually entered the electrical market by selling refurbished electric meters, laying the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey.
1996
Together with his son, Amit Agarwal, he ventured into the electrical business by trading products from established brands. The business initially operated as Agarwal Cable Company and faced several financial challenges in its early years. However, driven by determination and resilience, the foundation of Orbit Cables was established and officially registered.
2000
Orbit emerged as a rapidly growing and trusted brand in Tamil Nadu, gaining recognition for its commitment to quality and dependable electrical solutions.
2007
The company faced operational and technical challenges during a difficult business phase. With strong support from Neelam Agarwal, Orbit successfully overcame the slowdown and emerged stronger with renewed momentum and stability.
2010
ISO 9001:2008 Certification
Registered and certified under ISO 9001:2008 — a milestone in quality assurance.
2013
Orbit expanded its business operations beyond Tamil Nadu, strengthening its market presence across Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
2014
Orbit became an official sponsor of the Chennai Super Kings during the Indian Premier League, significantly enhancing the brand's national visibility.
2018
Orbit strengthened its sports partnerships by becoming one of the key sponsors of the Pro Kabaddi League.
2020
Orbit achieved a major business milestone by expanding its dealer and distribution network to over 10,000 dealers and 3,000+ companies across India and international markets including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Mauritius. In the same year, Orbit sponsored the Nellai Royal Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to support future growth.

Orbit continued its association with cricket by sponsoring the Trichy Warriors during the Tamil Nadu Premier League. The company also inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to support future growth and advanced production capabilities.

Orbit further strengthened its brand presence by sponsoring the Pro Kabaddi League once again. The company also expanded into new product segments including UG Cables, Modular Switches, PVC Pipes, LED Lighting, and Fans — marking a significant step in Orbit's evolution into a diversified electrical solutions brand.
